Sarah is principle for Ampersandbox Coaching & Consulting, focusing on Leadership Development, Business Coaching and Change Management. Sarah has introduced thousands to the power of choice, of “Yes, AND/&” in the “sandboxes” of play, life, and work. Her own discovery of YES, AND helped shift her career in two major ways – becoming a Dance/Movement Therapist and again as an Organization Development Specialist/Leadership Coach. Her own ability to reframe her many unique skills and her creativity into exciting work of navigating people who want to change their own lives and careers. As a coach, she facilitates leaders doing mirror work (looking at self), and window work (looking out at the team/organization) so they can leverage their skills, abilities, and passions to maximize results, and to create efficient teams and organizations.
Professional/Business Experience
Prior to owning her own business, Sarah has more than 35 years of experience in the healthcare industry in a variety of roles. Clinically, Sarah worked in behavioral health for almost 16 years before shifting into leadership development. She created the Dance/Movement Therapy program and supervised several clinical interns. She served as a Care Manager, where she worked closely with the physicians for streamlining the patient care process. As Program Coordinator, she developed educational programming and coordinated the clinical programing for the behavioral health hospital. When she transitioned to leadership development training and consulting, she helped create the curriculum for human-centric leadership skills, introduced coaching skills, and developed an internal ICF certified coaching class for internal leaders. As the Change Manager for the Health system, she was involved in M&A, new construction for Pharmacy and Operational Services and new Women’s hospital, support of COVID hospital team and leadership, and organizational culture change.

Sarah is on-call faculty at the Center for Creative Leadership facilitating leadership programs across the US. She is a Board Certified Coach and a Certified Change Management Professional. She served on the Boards of the American Dance Therapy Association, Creative Aging Network- NC, and the Presbyterian Counseling Center. She has facilitated strategic planning sessions for many Board retreats.
