Sobia Iqbal
PCC
Birmingham, England
As an Executive and Leadership Coach, Sobia is passionate about transformative conversations that empower and inspire personal growth and organizational change. She believes that to perform effectively requires clarity, including knowing how desired outcomes align to a greater purpose, vision, values, and priorities (both strategic and personal).
Professional/Business Experience
Sobia has worked with professionals at all levels from operations, senior management and Board. This is rooted in over 15 years of experience in coaching, mentoring, training, project management, business development and entrepreneurship. She has particularly enjoyed her time working collaboratively across the public, private and not-for-profit sectors, as a former bid manager for several National Healthcare Service (NHS) redesign and integration projects. This encompassed improving service outcomes, enhancing patient experience, workforce development, and stakeholder management.
Sobia’s diverse experiences and intersectional lens bring an added dimension to her work. She has been exposed to a rich tapestry of beliefs, practices, cultures, and ethnicities having lived and worked across the UK, Europe, and UAE. Her coaching and mentoring approach is holistic incorporating well-being, somatic, relational and eco-systemic.
At Acivico (a wholly owned company of Birmingham City Council, the biggest local authority in Europe) Sobia supported the development of leaders and managers across the organization to work more commercially whilst retaining the positives of their public sector roots, values, and ethos. This was achieved through coaching, mentoring and culture change management.
Sobia now spends most of her time coaching, mentoring, speaking and developing thought leadership around inclusive coaching and supervision. She very much enjoys working across organizations and systems through group and team coaching to have greater strategic impact.
She thoroughly enjoys supporting executives, leaders, and managers to develop their leadership confidence, competence, and effectiveness. Where appropriate she is also adept at supporting leaders to incorporate coaching skills into their leadership toolkit, which in turn fosters an organizational coaching culture.
