Professional/Business Experience
Combining business acumen, operational expertise, and a passion for developing people, Joan has been coaching leaders and physicians for more than 12 years. Joan recently retired after more than 35 years in executive leadership roles in health care.
In her most recent role, Joan served as Chief of Staff to the CEO for Cone Health in Greensboro, North Carolina. In this role, she provided leadership on initiatives to advance the CEO’s agenda for Cone Health. She served as his trusted advisor and managed strategic projects and other work critical to the successful execution of the strategic plan and brand promise.
Previously, Evans was executive vice president of innovation and transformation at Cone Health and was the senior executive accountable for driving execution and achieving measurable results associated with the transformation of healthcare delivery toward a patient-centered, value-based approach. Joan’s areas of accountability included: Innovation, the Cone Health Lean Office, Cultural Transformation, Enterprise Project Management Office, Organizational Effectiveness, Performance Consulting, and the Office of Patient Experience.
