Candidate Assessment Overview

Transforming unknown prospects into assessed candidates

The challenge in recruiting key talent to an organization is to turn hiring expenses and lost opportunity costs into a capital investment with a long-term payback and organizational growth. With today's lean profile in management, making a bad hiring decision may have a magnified impact on the business. Lawrence, Allen & Kolbe's Candidate Assessment Program is designed to uncover strengths and weaknesses in potential new hires using an in-depth interview process.

Without the need to sell the prospective candidate on the merits of the organization, emphasis is placed on a critical assessment of skills, by asking direct and specific questions, and challenging the candidate to think on his or her feet, instead of relying on scripted or rehearsed responses. Additionally, we facilitate the decision making process with the stakeholders in the organization.

Initial Meeting with Organization

Lawrence, Allen & Kolbe will meet with the organization to determine the scope of the assignment and completion plan. The flexibility of the Candidate Assessment Program allows it to be tailored to meet the specific needs of each organization.

Special emphasis will be placed on developing expectations of the candidate within the context of the organization, its culture, and its structure. Stakeholder assessments of the candidate(s) are reviewed at a later date so that a truly objective third party point of view can be developed. This avoids the risk of viewing the candidate through the same prism and cultural filters that exist in the organization.
