The firm of Lawrence, Allen & Kolbe was founded in 1977, with a business objective to provide individualized employment transition services to Fortune 500 clients and smaller entrepreneurial organizations. Over the next 25 years, the firm established a reputation for delivering the highest quality Outplacement and Partner Relocation services nationwide.

In 2003, the ownership and management of the firm was transferred to John Kolbe and Mark Glasser, former Partners, and the name was changed from Lawrence & Allen to Lawrence, Allen & Kolbe.
